A King James Exclusive

Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,

This phrase “he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted” should give every person who is heart-broken, and still reads the King James Version, reason to rejoice. Why? Because this phrase has been removed from almost all the common modern versions. I can’t imagine not being able to preach this phrase… not being able to read this promise… not being able to know this wonderful gift. It is devilish robbery to steal such glory! Such kindness! Such hope!

Glorious hope! Shout it: JESUS WAS SENT TO HEAL THE BROKENHEARTED! For all those who, like me, have groped in the dismal darkness of brokenness for some way out… some way up… and longed for some place safe… some refuge where the fires of anguish are quenched: Rejoice! Jesus has come to heal the brokenhearted! He has come to us, to do a great thing for and to us. He is the light… the warm light chasing the cold shadows from our hearts. He is the great physician who heals our souls with his touch. He is the good Shepherd who gives such care that fear is not even a memory. Jesus, if He is your Savior, will never break your heart, but he will… he will heal your broken heart.
