Prayer Identity

Romans 10:14a How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?
Prayer is global… Today, as in the past, a person is religiously distinguished by the identity of the god they “call” upon in prayer. Why would someone “call” on a god they did not believe existed? We call on God because we believe He exists and hears our prayers.
Christians in the New Testament were identified by their prayers. They prayed to Jesus. Acts 9:14, 21; I Corinthians 1:2 The name Jesus was not the only name used in Christian prayer, but it is clear that by praying to Jesus the early Christians believed: He was God, He was alive, and He was able to answer their prayers. I believe these same truths today.
It is important that we know who we pray to and by what means our prayers are heard. God hears believer’s prayers because of Jesus’ Gospel sacrifice.Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

  1. Hey finally got to check out the blog. Looks very good. Good use of the graphic in the masthead. There is a picture of a shaft of light coming into antelope canyon here in Northern Az that would fit the theme as well but not the colors you have on the page. I'll send it to you anyway.

  2. I took that shot in a huge rain forest fig tree on the north shore of Maui. Just seemed to fit.
