Real-Time God

Matthew 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Jesus’ answer to satan's temptation came from Moses' review of God's relationship with the Children of Israel in Deuteronomy chapter 8

God's methods in His relationship with Israel seemed designed to let Israel know He was involved in their lives “real-time”. Being the all-powerful God meant He could remain a cold, impersonal distance from Israel, but instead He purposed to be “hands on”.

Understanding God is a real-time God is part of our growth as Christians. Sometimes God uses our struggles to teach us He knows what’s going on with us, He cares, and He is ever near. He may have inspired His Word centuries ago, but He is involved in our lives right now… real-time. This makes His Word alive... right now.

Jesus was in a real-time relationship with His heavenly father who would provide for every need at just the right moment. He was feasting on that relationship, and had no hunger for a relationship with satan. Lord, let us live as Jesus did, by feasting on your Words. Open the Bible today and find bread for your soul.
