Iam inspired by this phrase "He ain't heavy, his my brother" as it reminds me of my upbringing (the hard times) in the late sixties & seventies with the song made famous by the Hollies, it always brings tears to my eyes.

What a great illustration. It's a scary prospect to pray that God would humble us though because like you say, "He will". I usually add, "please, be gentle, unless there's no other way" at the end of prayers like this.

They are already here! What sets off the lingering, growing aggressiveness to the point that it seems inevitable that they will leave and drag as many in their wake as possible? I am not good in these situations, often waiting too long to intervene. Long term, I end up very thankful for the healthy number of people who, when forced to witness such behavior, react with a shrug, a roll of the eyes, a "whatever"... and calmly carry on... often attempting to befriend and minister to the troublesome party.
Conflict resolution needs a lot more attention than it gets.... at least from me. Thanks!!

I have smiliar thoughts, at my young age in the ministry, I can recall one time where the advesary (satan) was particularly on the attack and I wanted to chuck it all, BUT GOD showed me two things in that strggle 1. I am a servant of the most high God, and 2. no matter how insignificant I feel in the ministry God's desire for me is to not grow weary in well doing, for in eternaity I will get to see the results for His glory.
Brother, I want you to know I would not be the person I am if God had not brought you into my life. I thank God for you.
Final thought: A guy was walking along a beach and throwing starfish back into the water, their were 1000's of starfish, another guy saw this and asked the man "Why are you doing this--you are not making a difference?" My friend and distant mentor (whither realized or not), this small man among the masses is foundationally greatful for your work in the ministerial realm. It is pastors like you, as well as my own pastor, which help me to press on for a life of faithfulness.
